Workshop on Hinf and mue Synthesis

Perhaps the most important controller design method discovered in the last two decades is Hinf control. It forms the basis of robust control which revolves around the structured singular singular value μ. Using μ synthesis, it is possible to design controllers which satisfy defined performance and robustness specifications. These methods have shown to be extraordinarily powerful.

PendCon offers a unique experiment which is solely dedicated to these methods. This is the Double Pendulum Experiment in combination with the Uncertainty Set. The Uncertainty Set adds various kinds of additional dynamics to the double pendulum and makes it considerably harder control. Hinf control and μ synthesis are necessary to overcome the arising difficulties. In the Hinf and μ synthesis workshop it is shown step by step how these methods can be applied to overcome them.
