Rate Control

Rate control is probably one of the most elementary experiments and is very well suited to teach the first steps of control theory. The plant is of first order if the inductivity of the dc motor is neglected. If a pwm amplifier is used, the plant is an integrator. Simple P or PI controllers will do the job. The emphasis is to teach the basic definitions of control theory.
